Good times

Well I was thinking the other day when I was swimming in the pool how much we all have done in there. To name a few, 1st most of us learned to swim in this pool (if we didn't learn to swim here we got a lot better), we stayed cool and so did our friends (that was the only thing that got them over in the summer), there where lots of games played in there ( the one that i love is Marco Polo, and many others), the thing that was not so fun was the cleaning ( we would fight it til we couldn't see in the water anymore). Well if you have any stories of the pool I would love to hear about them.

  • You are killing me! How many of your birthday parties were Pool Parties? I know I had a few. How many "end of the school year" pool parties were there? I know Jill had a few and Ann had at least one I remember.

Jill and I played Puzzle Pool, where the floor was a puzzle and we had to put it back together.

Mermaids. I'm Sparkle. (ya'll know what I am talking about)

  • How about tea parties on the bottom? Treading water competitions. That game where one person said something under water and the other person had to figure out what they said.

I had my one and only boy/girl pool party at the end of 8th grade. I found out years later why mom discouraged me from having any more...

  • You only found that out years later, Ann?

I was always jealous of birthday pool parties because I'm a december baby. What a great shot of the pool, btw, it looks huge. You should look into photography. The ones you took at Lake Lynn are phenomenal.

I was right there with Karin on the Mermaid game. What about Bubbles - where we would dive off the board into the person before us's bubbles and you had to go fast enough that the bubbles never went away. And for earlier years, how about choo-choo? My back dive and Ann's twist dive were both perfected there. What about the summer Matt stopped bathing and thought that swimming every day counted, until his hair got so nasty that Mom found out and insisted he shower? Those are good times. Tea parties were fun. I had to teach AJ how to play in Fiji because he never had before.

Okay, I guess since my comment is longer than the original post I can stop now.

  • Thanks for the flash backs of the great times from the Stewart's pool. This year is not that exciting for the pool because it looks like there is going to only be matt and is friend playing Marco Polo.

  • What are Ann & Em talking about?! What happened at THAT pool party?
Whatever it was prevented the rest of us from having boy/girl swim parties, not that I wanted to have yucky boys over for a swim party (I am not being sarcastic, I am being serious).

  • Karin you didn't have boys over to swim? what about the Rohm boys? I thought that they where here all the time.

  • And when I read your post, my first thought was: Everyone piddled in the pool? I thought of other stuff, too, but most of it was already said. How about swimming under water as many back and forths as we can without taking a breath.

  • When I was growing up, it was all about marco polo, of course. But also we spent many a summer days playing alligator and the candy bar game. Man those were the days of never bathing and as tan as a mexican.
